So its time for the first wake9.com Quickie. What is a Quickie, well it is basically a quick contest where you submit video. On this quickie, you can win one of Wake9.com’s special industrial Camera Mount for your boat and your handheld HD camera. It works on any camera that has a tripod mount underneath. We had fun with this video/podcast, I guess we like to be stupid on occasion, maybe too often.
NOTE: No need to BEAT RJs video, its just an example of a great recovery. We want to see your recovery vids, and we will judge them apart from RJs for the prize. You may submit up to 7/6/2010. Have fun!
Here are some pictures of the camera mount and how we mount it to the fiberglass, it is rock solid. You will win a BRAND NEW one of these, minus the camera.
If you would like to provide a prize and sponsor one of these quickie contests, feel free to contact me. We will be doing them several times through the summer.
Just Use the Contact form at the bottom of this post, after the video to submit your video from any service like Vimeo, Youtube, Google, etc.
Please use this form to submit your recovery video to us.
So RJ finishes all of the competition video and stuff, and so now he has a few videos under his belt and is editing podcasts quite nicely. It is fun watching him learn a skill, he has caught on very quick. He has watched me over the years, but he still has picked it up faster than I expected. So he asks me if he can make a recap video of the entire event with music, photos and video, putting together all he learned. Works well for me, we can put it on youtube, and use it to point people to the entire Festival Archive. So he does it, I don’t touch the computer, only give him verbal pointers. He did a great job, enjoy!
We have been working on this for 2 years. It was the founding idea behind wake9.com. We are very excited to finally announce this, and can’t wait to see it play out.
We had to combine the Women’s Open with the Amateur Women’s division, but we still had some great surfing. Bri Chmel takes first place with a great run, but HELLO, here comes Adriana Borelli with a second place and $350. This division saw the highest prize money.
Some great competition in this class. Kevin Riffle from Seattle took first, RJ took second, and watch out for Chris Wolter, he took third and was so stoked he signed up for worlds. Good luck, Chris!.
So we RJ, Dennis, Chase, Farrah, Dave and Maddie had a great time surfing the V226. It had a great wake on both sides. The pocket seemed a little shorter than the RZ2 but I didn’t hear any complaints, everyone enjoyed it. I heard the goofy wake may be a bit better than the regular, but both sides were good. Watch the video and check the photos section to see for yourself. I have to apologize in advance for our intro.
