This was one of the funnest classes to watch, some good competition, and some great wakesurfing. Enjoy!

We had to combine the Women’s Open with the Amateur Women’s division, but we still had some great surfing. Bri Chmel takes first place with a great run, but HELLO, here comes Adriana Borelli with a second place and $350. This division saw the highest prize money.

Some great competition in this class. Kevin Riffle from Seattle took first, RJ took second, and watch out for Chris Wolter, he took third and was so stoked he signed up for worlds. Good luck, Chris!.

So we RJ, Dennis, Chase, Farrah, Dave and Maddie had a great time surfing the V226. It had a great wake on both sides. The pocket seemed a little shorter than the RZ2 but I didn’t hear any complaints, everyone enjoyed it. I heard the goofy wake may be a bit better than the regular, but both sides were good. Watch the video and check the photos section to see for yourself. I have to apologize in advance for our intro.
The Walker Smackdown. Jeff pulled it out in the end, but Judy ALMOST made her 360, and then it would have been another story!
Enjoy.
This was a great session with 3 great names in wakesurfing. Chase Hazen, James Walker and Johnny Stieg. This is the first division where James and Chase went head to head, James nailed his run, and Chase faltered a bit, but there is still the Open Surf division, and Chase came back hard for that one. It was great watching these guys battle.
View it in Hi Rez at the Festival Media section.
The Surf/Skim challenge is a great event, it shows up overall wakesurf skills, riding a surf board in one direction on the course, then a skim board in the other.
Special thanks to Wakeshredder.com for sponsoring this division.
We will be updating The Wake9.com Experience podcast with several videos from the festival, starting with the competition video from inside the boat. Visit wake9.com/festival for updates on all of the photos and video from the Festival.
Yesterday was a great day for wake9, a great day for the Garcias. First, Jesse is standing up on the board and she is so cute out there when she tries. She can stand for about 2 seconds before losing her balance and RJ has to jump out and get her. She is working for a 5 count. If she can stand up for 5 seconds wakesurfing, then Jessica will get her first American Girl doll. She wants it bad. She is always coming to my desk and showing me the catalog, and the accessories.
The other reason it was a great day is Jesse got to take off her splints, most likely FOREVER. If you don’t know about Jesse, you should read this post:

We have always been told by the doctors and several therapists that Jessica will always wear those splints until she stops growing, around 18 years old. They are so painful, and smelly after a day of sweating. They really hurt her, and they are designed to force her legs to correct themselves. Here is a picture from last summer where you can see her in the splints.
Well, no more splints. We celebrated yesterday and went straight to the mall and bought Jesse 3 pairs of regular shoes from the Vans store. Her first regular pair of shoes. So we made a video to memorialize the day and share it with all.
